Despite the inaccurate (well, you're already engaged aren't you?) or terribly dry name - this is one of the most important moments in the run up to your wedding. They are so important I do them with every single couple. I don't charge extra and I don't want my packages look "bigger". Here are my reasons :)
Read MoreA lot of preparation went into this picnic. There were ham sandwiches, and hard to find fizzy drinks for Ryan. Monica even got a Polaroid camera so they can have some instant fun. I wish I could tell a bit more about them but some of it was quite personal and very funny. Another awesome wedding is approaching :)
Read MoreOne day Josh surprised Clare with an engagement ring in the middle of a photo shoot. I knew what was coming as Josh called me the day before to give me heads up. A year later or so later I had a pleasure to photograph their wedding in Cottesloe at the Civic Centre. Their wedding venue of choice was Blue Duck. Located just on the beach 10 minutes away from the gardens of Civic Centre.
Read MoreThis is my first wedding at the Core Cider House. However I know thePickering Brook quite well. It's my second wedding in this part of Perth Hills within the space of two weeks. I've done a lot of location scouting there recently. Core Cider is one of these small and unique venues that combine the feel and character of the area with awesome views.
Read MoreIf you want a Perth Hills wedding you go to Core Cider House. If you're super lucky you grew up on a farm in Pickering Brook and this is where you're getting married. :) Fran and Isaac exchanged their vows in the middle of the orchard, just by the brook that gave name to the area. Perth Hills are incredibly beautiful even if the weather is bad.
Read MoreSam and Kat are getting married in Perth Hills in a few weeks. Big part of what I do is getting to know people a bit better before the wedding and discovering things that make them unique. Everyone is camera shy at first and there's only one way of overcoming it.
Read MoreThis is the wedding that made me googling "wedding forecast Perth" instead of "weather forecast Perth". In the end we were lucky to have only a little bit of rain. The Brookside Vineyard is beautiful, there's a lot of prettiness packed into a small area. A bit of a photographers dream really.
Read MoreIsaac grew up on a farm in Perth Hills. Fran comes from Brazil. The same farm will be the setting for their wedding. To say we had lots of fun together would be a an understatement.
Read MoreThis image jumped at me straight away. I've finished downloading images from my cards wanted to have a quick look at them.
Read MorePerth winter is already in full swing. Sunsets are beautiful again and light soft. Days however got shorter. Window of light/time was really small but with some preparation and scouting nothing is impossible :)
Read MoreWedding in Whaler's Tunnel in Fremantle? Why, yes :)
I'd like to think some of the images I shot on the day would not look as great as they turned out to be if it wasn't for the rain and wind.
Read MoreThe pressure is on when a photographer and a photo editor are getting married. And they picked you to photograph it. It's also liberating because they understand the power of images and storytelling. Bells Rapids is a special place to these two and a perfect choice for a relaxed session. I don't like "rushing" my images. Slower pace allows people to be themselves and enjoy the experience. I also have more time to explore, observe and catch moments.
Read MoreAnother Darlington Estate Wedding - Yay :)
I love catching moments showing character of people and feel of the day. Amy and Terry's wedding was full of them. Lots of strong personalities among the family and guests :)
Read MoreThis is what happens when rain goes away mid day - amazing sunset. It just happened that me Gosia and Alex were on the Coogee beach ready to pounce on it :) And pounce we did. I remember, when I was preparing their engagement session blog post, one thing stood in my mind: " Quietly in love". This still is how I'd describe what's between them.
Read MoreAs the name suggests this was mainly Fremantle event. Cecelia and Tarrant like things quirky and different so Fremantle was a perfect choice for a wedding.
Anyone choosing to get married here is cool by default. Anyone hiring an Ice cream truck (or to be more precise Ice Pop's Truck) is a trend setter of coolness. At one point 80% of all the guests have been seen in a semi-bent position with an ice pop in a hand. I wasn't quite convinced, at first, about the whole idea so I ate 3.
Read MoreI love photographing wedding because it allows me to document something really important. Everyone opens their door for me, I can go anywhere I want, I get to hear the stories.
It's life condensed...
When it comes to telling stories it's the quality that matters. It's all about taking away untill you can't take away anymore.
Jo and Ollie remind me of Yin and Yang a little - British cool and Greek fire mixed in perfect proportion.
Read MoreThe dangers of falling in love with your landlord. Which is what happened to Anthony and Melita. Anthony being the landlord ;)
St. Columba Church in South Perth is one of my favourites. I always look at things from the photographer's perspective so I really like how bright the inside is (well, as far as churches go :)
There's the view as well. It's pretty cool when you can almost see your venue from the Church across the water. There's something a bit surreal about Lamont's Bishops House. Brick among glass and steel - a little of old Australia in the heart of new. There's nothing surreal about the food there. Simply amazing :)
Read MoreAnother Rottnest Island Wedding.
You know this little white Chapel that looks very Spanish? Isn't it a very cool place to get married?
I didn't even know you can get married there :)
The only downside was a fair number of tourists everywhere. I even had to quietly close the chapel's main door in face of a small crow of random people. I doubt however Jay and Lucy even noticed. They were a bit lost in their own world :)
Read MoreGlenn and Ella came all the way to Fremantle to see what it's like to be focus of my attention :) Ella kind of knew what to expect as she was one of the bridesmaids at the wedding of Nathan and Grace at Caversham House
People are friends with people who are a little like them so I'm expecting another awesome wedding full of awesome people :)
Read MoreThis is Melita and Anthony.
This is what they are like when no one is around :)
They kissed a few hours after they met and then nothing happened for a very long time.
Something did happen eventually and obviously this is the way it was supposed to be.
It's 25 days untill they are getting married, things are starting to feel real :)
