There were fights, crazy contests, drinking from over-sized vessels, exotic animals, outrageous speeches and much more... Every one was asked to leave guns in the kitchen ;) Here are some of my personal favorites. Click on any of them and enjoy.
Read MoreIt's the pair of shoes left neatly on a table at the back of a café. It's the girl sleeping on a skateboard, it's the 'keep left' sign in the middle of a street party, it's the flower pots in front of the Fire Hydrant Booster by the door to my house. It's the error in the matrix...

Read MoreA camera that fits into a small backpack costs more than 2 brand new Jeep Wranglers... You could buy a 35mm pro camera with a set of top range lenses, go traveling around Africa for 2 years and come back a better person with some stunning images.
Read MorePerth street photographs I shot recently. This time I managed to capture a few colorful "characters". Enjoy.
Read MoreYou'll never believe what happened to me in Bali. Well, you probably will and blog posts that start with "You'll never believe..." are very annoying.
Read MoreThis is the oldest spectator sport in the world going back to ancient Persia. The practice spread with armies and men who fought them. Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Henry the VIII, George Washington enjoyed or participated in Cockfights.
Read MoreI got my hands on DSC RX-100 some time ago for a water related project. My diving friend lend me one along with a nice underwater housing. I couldn't help myself to take out a few times to see how it fits into my street work. Here are my thoughts:
Read MoreBali is an amazing place to visit and photograph. Streets teem with people and activity - exotic smells hit you at every corner. People are extremely friendly which is a first thing a newcomer notices. Hindu statues and little offerings are at every doorstep and corner- life here is follows a rhythm set by religion.
Read MoreThousands of people gathered today in Cottesloe to protest against the shark cull in WA. Surfers, divers, environmentalists, families, old and young came to express the anger at the current catch-and-kill policy... In the last two years or so a few people died in shark related accidents. Read MoreThe theory of keeping a journal is easy, everyone who watched Indiana Jones[1] knows it's vital. It was the practical side of having a journal I was struggling with.

Read MoreMy latest library find is "Tete a Tete" by one of the greatest photographers of all times - HCB (Henri Cartier-Bresson). HCB is more known for his street photographs than portraiture. It was interesting to find a book concentrating on this less known part of his photographic legacy in my small, local Fremantle library. E. H. Gombrich in his introduction concerns himself more with the concept of a "good" portrait than with work of HCB. I quite liked it actually as he asks some really interesting questions in the process.
Read MoreI am sitting here trying to write something interesting and engaging and nothing is happening. Well, sometimes there is no story and drama - no one tried to punch you, you didn't talk to anyone, there was no ground breaking thoughts...
